A significant part of Imagine Monroe’s mission is helping businesses grow. That’s why we’re relocating the Imagine Monroe team down to the first floor of the building we currently occupy, City Place and transforming it into a business center.
The redesigned space will allow us to offer more resources and be more accessible to the small business community in Monroe County. Individuals can utilize collaborative meeting spaces and have more direct access to Imagine Monroe staff.
The Monroe County Department of Planning and Development, which includes Workforce Development, Community Development and Planning Services for the County will also accompany Imagine Monroe in this move.
Imagine Monroe attracts economically sound commerce to Monroe County with the goal of improving the quality of life for the residents here. By encouraging businesses, investors and entrepreneurs to imagine the possibilities in Monroe County, we work toward our goal of protecting and promoting the health of Monroe County residents.
We provide assistance to qualified applicants and projects; however, Imagine Monroe does not lend money for any projects. Instead, we provide assistance through tax exemptions, real property tax abatements, mortgage tax exemptions, and access to lower interest rates through tax-exempt bond issues. Assistance is available for acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, improving, maintaining, equipping and furnishing industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, commercial, research and recreational facilities.
Jeffrey Adair, Imagine Monroe’s Executive Director is looking forward to the shift. “With this move, our team will be more accessible to residents and employers. The new state-of-the-art facility will help small businesses grow here, create more jobs here, and make a greater impact on our community. We’re excited about the role we’ll be able to play in that.”
The renovation will have a contemporary 21st century feel and will put Imagine Monroe in a position to better serve clients and businesses. The workforce development team will also be located on the 1st floor to better collaborate with the economic development team and with Imagine Monroe.
The renovation and move are expected to be completed by November 2019.
By bringing our job-creation experts to Main Street, we’re sending a strong message that Monroe County is ready, willing, and able to help businesses locate and expand on Main Streets in the entire community.
