Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo today announced the year-end results of Imagine Monroe’s economic development efforts. For the 2018 calendar year, Imagine Monroe approved 43 total projects that will directly result in the creation of 967 jobs, retention of 1,991 jobs, and attraction of $398.9 million in private investment in Monroe County.

In 2018, Monroe County’s powerful economic development engine Imagine Monroe worked with global, national, and local employers to secure nearly 3,000 more jobs for our residents,” said Dinolfo“These projects will infuse nearly $400 million in private investment in our local economy, helping to grow more jobs and more opportunities for families all across our community. With Monroe County’s innovative ‘Jobs on Main’ project just on the horizon, which will relocate our job-creation team in Downtown Rochester, I am confident that Imagine Monroe will be doing even more to grow more jobs and support stronger families in 2019.”

For 2018, projects receiving assistance through Imagine Monroe yielded an average of 22 jobs secured per project. In total, Imagine Monroe approved projects will impact nearly 7,000 jobs in total, accounting for direct, indirect and temporary construction jobs.

Sydor Instruments, LLC

New Jobs Created: 19 new full-time job

Sydor Instruments, LLC, is a photonics manufacturer, providing custom products for high-speed imaging and diagnostics. The company has partnered with the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics and the Brookhaven National Lab to support the commercialization of products. The purchase, renovation as well as equipment build of an existing 41,000 square foot facility in the Town of Perinton allows to facilitate future growth of the company. The $1.7 million project will retain 20 jobs and create 19 additional positions.

Live Tiles, Corp. commonly known as Live Tiles, is a global software company with their headquarters located in New York City, establishing an office in Monroe County. The company develops transformative enterprise solutions and intelligent design, to reshape the way people interact with technology in the workplace. Live Tiles provides platforms for companies to develop dashboards, employee portals and corporate intranet that can be further enhanced by artificial intelligence and analytical features. Live Tiles will create 100 new full-time jobs and expects to add an additional 500 more new jobs over the next 5 years here in Monroe County.

Rochester Precision Optics, LLC

Rochester Precision Optics is a manufacturer of precision optical elements and imaging assemblies. Rochester Precision Optics provides high-volume advanced imagining components, subsystems and systems to market leaders around the world. Based out of Henrietta, the company is a privately owned entity and has helped to retain jobs and industry leaders in our area. Rochester Precision Optics recently acquired a Florida based company and is in the process of integrating their operation into the Rochester operation. Currently, Rochester Precision Optics employs over 275 people and plans to add an additional 30 more positions.

Pharos Systems International, Inc.

Pharos Systems International, Inc. was founded over 20 years ago and is a software development company in the print management space. Their products enable customers to understand the true cost of print, implement tools and processes that reduce print resources and improve security of the printed page. One of Pharos’ developments, Sentry Print Services, centralizes print jobs in a cloud based queue. These print jobs are not released until the user is physically present at the device ensuring security and authentication of the document. Investing in a 23,000 square foot space at the Riverwood Tech Campus, Pharos will be expanding their business creating 13 new positions while retaining 67 jobs.
